The Dark Album is Ross Harper's 5th studio album. This is a collection of tracks created between 2015 and 2022 that represent a transition in Ross Harper's life from a period of introversion, to a new era of extroversion.

The turning point in this process began in November 2018. As Ross looked back with a new way of seeing things, certain points in his life seemed to come to the surface and take on special significance.

Ultimately, in January 2022, this awakening led Ross on a pilgrimage to a place called Napta Playa in the Egyptian desert. The "star man" in the album artwork was inspired by a story Ross wrote whilst contemplating the personal importance of Napta Playa.
